The balancing act of business (and life)

The late, brilliant write Stephen R. Covey stated, “It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in the thick of thin things.” So true in all areas of life- we get “bogged down” in trivial matters, negative emotions and toxic relationships. But this is a business website specifically focused on helping companies providing residential services. So now with great trepidation I’m gonna say…

That the actual work you do is part of the “thin things” of your business. And I’ve commented before about all your business toys… err I mean business tools, trucks, equipment, etc. All of this stuff really means very little to your success. Instead, consistently “Making the Cheerleader” is what will make your phone ring! But now seriously ask yourself…

“Is my phone constantly ringing ‘all there is’?” My answer is a resounding “NO”! Listen closely here: “The purpose of your business is to serve your life!” (What you and your loved ones want!) However…

A degree of financial wealth will be needed to accomplish almost all of your “wants”. As I tell every one of my “Strategies for Success” classes: “Money is just a tool. But MORE money is much better than NO money!” (In the over 20 years and over 5,000 students I’ve enjoyed teaching I’ve never had anyone argue with this statement!) So instead of just “making a good living” from your residential services business I’ll leave you a question to focus on…

“HOW can I increase my financial resources, savings and investments from my business?”
